ADVENT 2016 #18 – LA FLEUR
### Apologies for the delay in this post – our servers have been down and we’ve been unable to access the admin pages ###
While we haven’t directly posted about today’s advent before, she’s been mentioned in a few previous posts and is certainly a producer and DJ we’ve had on our radar for quite some time, the Swedish born – Berlin based DJ, producer and label manager La Fleur has really had a exceptional 2016, her busiest and most exciting year yet. The Watergate resident’s first release this year was ‘Waves’ on Watergate’s own imprint, as part of their first ‘Watergate Affairs’ compilation back in May. This was promptly followed by ‘Vervain’ another solo track for a compilation release, this time on Kerri Chandler‘s Madhouse label, for ‘Madhouse Ibiza 2016’ cementing her friendship with the US house legend. Her third compilation track in a row ‘Caged’ was released on her own imprint Powerplant Records as part of their monumental 5 year anniversary release ‘Power Plant 5 Years’. La Fleur‘s first Solo EP this year came in August and saw her return to Watergate Records for the four track EP ‘Hedione’. A remix for Superflu and Mr. Bass followed in early September, and late September her debut for Cocoon Recordings – ‘Chemicality’ as part of the Cocoon P compilation. Her fifth and final compilation track this year came in October, ‘Seven Suns’ was part of Coincidance Secret Festivals compilation ‘Coincidance Beats Vol 2’ on Deeplomatic Recordings. La Fleur‘s final release this year, was a reworking of one of her early productions ‘Flowerhead’ which she released once again on her own Powerplant imprint, with remixes from herself and two other strong ladies Dana Ruh and Cassy.
As well as having a busy release schedule, La Fleur has been making huge waves with her DJ-ing too. An incredible Boiler Room performance alongside Richie Hawtin and Dubfire, (Listen HERE watch HERE) set a precedent for her in the Techno spectrum. She also made her Mixmag Lab debut alongside B.Traits back in March for their international women’s day special (watch HERE). Throughout this year, she also delivered radio mixes some of radio’s finest, including Pete Tong’s show on Evolution in USA in Feb and mixes for Heidi in Jan, a B2B with B.Traits for her show in May and four further mixes for B.Traits in July for – all on UK’s BBC Radio1. All this on top of a full gig schedule, it’s fair to say she’s built up quite some momentum this year and we’ll certainly make sure we bring you more news from La Fleur in 2017.
