Ant Brooks – Old’s Cool

2012 September 17

For those of you that follow the blog regularly, you’ll know that here at Lipstick Disco we’re huge fans of Love Not Money records as well as being bang into that 90’s sounding Deep / Piano house that seems to be creeping in everywhere at the moment; heavy driving drums, chopped up vocals, hands in the air synths and a vibe that sounds like it was spawned in 90’s New York. So this release is a marraige of two of our fave things, it came out back in July / Aug, but I simply can’t let it go unmentioned.

A banging track from Ant Brooks, with a nice little garagey remix from Cecyl. Both the original and the remix are slick.

And while we’re on that vibe I also want to mention the Love Not Money EP released just prior to this one. Similar sounding Deep Piano house, this time from The Dutch Rudder & Mark Wells. There’s three tracks on the EP: War, which is a nice bubbling track, with a deep nu disco remix from Echoman’s Unarmed Forces. But the track on this EP that get’s me most excited it ‘I’m About’ relentlessly banging tune!
