Guilty Pleasures, we all have them and recently Ejeca and Satin Jackets released an EP with the very title, featuring some little treats. Ejeca has the midas touch and this Vinyl only release is solid gold. Out on House Of Disco the ‘Guilty Pleasures’ EP is exactly what is says on the tin, some old skool dance classics mixed to perfection.
The A Side see’s ‘Satin Jackets’ remix a familiar fave rave tune ‘Let Me Be Your Fantasy’ by Baby D.
Then on the B Side Ejeca’s ‘Natal’ plucks a very familiar sample indeed, as he pulls off the impossible and crafts a trance guilty pleasure into an addictive, patient house groover peppered with a typically ravey vocal.
House of Disco are pretty good at providing little Guilty pleasures and their daily tune giveaways often fulfil this desire. Here’s a couple of recent gems from them (all with Free DL):
This is just magnificent, the original is painfully beautiful, perfect only for chilling, but Adriatique & Thyladomid take on Chris Isaaks sexy Bluegrass number and turn it into a down-tempo deep house slow burner. Sexy as hell.
Then Lou Van’s Nu Disco take on the classic 80’s hairspray ballad by Mister Mister is just lovely.
and two 90’s R&B classics, Joy Orbisons slightly garagey fresh new take on Donell Jones ‘U Know What’s Up’
and a lovely little mix of Bobby Brown’s two can play that game by Ben Gomori, which you have to go get from House Of Disco themselves HERE, which I highly recommend and while you’re there, sign up for their daily downloads, well worth it.
Now here’s a few more guilty pleasures from our friends at Disco Syndicate, also all with free DL for you.
..And Just two more, as one shouldn’t over indulge, both of these gems are re-edits of the Whispers. First up our friends Les Bons Vivants with their twist on ‘The Beat Goes on’
And finally.. Ruben & Ra’s take on ‘It’s A Love Thing’
Don’t be ashamed or embarrassed about enjoying these tracks just embrace!
