THROWBACK THURS #3 Tom Trago – Use Me Again

THROWBACK THURSDAY

Every Thursday we bring you a classic track from the musical vaults.

Just after new year I was lucky enough to go to the closing party of Trouw in Amsterdam, it was truly epic as you would expect for the farewell party of one of the worlds most beloved clubs. I managed to last 34 hours, the massively inspiring music from some of the worlds most revered DJ’s kept me going and it was a monster of a party. Among many, Amsterdam local Tom Trago played an absolute scorcher of a set and on more than one occasion throughout my marathon party session this song was spun. The memorizing and highly emotive disco loop fueled a juxtaposition of sheer excitement and tragic loss as we waved a fond farewell to the end of era; a slice of music history was made right there, in that very moment. I heard this played in a bar last night and it all came flooding back, so it seemed fitting to pay homage on today’s’ Throwback Thursday. Originally released in 2010 with a remaster and refix by Carl Craig in 2012, the track is a reworking Millie Jackson’s 1979 jam ‘We Got To Hit It Off’ and is an absolute slice of perfection.
