Villette – Fall

2015 October 27
by Michelle Manetti

When Siné Buyuka first contacted me back in Sep 2014 with her Jon Talabot remix, I knew immediately this was one talented lady, I asked her to join us as part of the Lipstick Disco team and she’s been a hugely valued member ever since. A DJ, Producer, journalist and record label owner, she has many musical strings to her bow and her ‘Crossed Wires’ EP due for release on Nov 27th on her own label Injazero Records, truly cements this fact. ‘Fall’ which debuted a few days ago on Dummy, is the opening number to her EP; a wistfully reflective, deep melodic-techno track, pulsing through an isolated expanse, eerily melancholic and yet stubborn in its refusal to be cast downwards, the track’s breathily manipulated vocals and bouncing 4/4 patterns push away from the encircling darkness. It somehow has the breath of autumn air about it, like a walk through a misty forest of orange hues, reminding us winter is firmly on it’s way.
